Synkt Games

BACKGROUND / CHALLENGE:

Fantasy sports is a $8B industry with 60 million fantasy sports players in the United States and Canada. In 2013, a Miami entrepreneur and several partners with experience in on-line gaming formed a new company that would develop various fantasy sports mobile betting applications. The new entity would compete against both established DFS and new upstarts, some of which are noted below.

WANT Branding was retained to create a name for the overarching company and the first fantasy sports app.

SOLUTION:

Over a fast track period, we worked closely with the company’s leadership team. Our initial work focused on interviews, marketplace audits and insights on competitive brands to help determine what kinds of names would work best.

We used the insights from our discovery phase to create a strategic foundation for naming which enabled us to generate hundreds of names for consideration.

The name ‘Synkt Games’ emerged as the name for overarching business. The name was selected for its brevity and tone while underscoring a business that was ‘in synch’ with the needs of its customers. And for the app we chose the name ‘Let’s Rumbl’. Both names successfully evoked the digital and gaming spirit of the company.

OUTCOME:

Today, Synkt Games is a fast growing, fantasy sports developer & publisher that is making significant inroads into the huge and fast growing DFS industry.
