Background / Challenge:

In 2016, Destination Hotels and Commune Hotels + Resorts merged to begin a new journey together – setting off to create an unrivaled collection of unique properties delivering remarkable experiences for guests across 85 properties in 8 countries. Inspired by a Robert Frost poem ‘The Road Not Taken’, the “Two Roads” brand was born with a vision to become the most extraordinary, independent hotel management company in the world. Working with senior marketing leadership, WANT was retained to provide brand strategy for two of its property portfolio brands – Joie De Vivre and Tommie.

Solution:

Outcome:

JdV was named Best Boutique Hotel Chain in the 2017 SmarterTravel Editors’ Choice Awards. Meanwhile, construction continues on the first Tommie Hotel in Los Angeles. This, eight-story, 212 guest room hotel will include a ground-level lounge, underground parking, rooftop pool and amenity deck and is scheduled to open in 2019.
